At Hessaford Farm we have approximately 12 acres of woodland, ideal for trials practise. The varied terrains of the trials area comprise steep climbs, a challenging rocky gulley, two small disused quarries, a testing river section and of course lots of MUD! These all make for some very interesting trials sections indeed. There are a number of favourite ready made sections, but riders are welcome to mark out some of their own, as long as they don't cut down any trees.
Riders under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult while riding in the woods & ALL riders must wear a helmet and proper riding boots. The woods present a challenge and are not ideally suited to the raw novice or very young rider, although I am sure we can find somewhere suitable for most standards of rider.
Visitors are welcome to walk around and view the various farming activities on our 180 acre beef and arable farm, although young children do need to be closely supervised around the animals & farm machinery. Due to this environment pets are unfortunately not allowed.
We provide you with a spacious workshop, which is fitted with a strong padlock for your bike's security. We also provide a pressure hose, to wash off those muddy wheels etc. We just ask a voluntary contribution of 50p per wash to help out with our water costs.
Our six-berth static caravan is all electric with a 50p meter, it has two bedrooms (one double and one twin bedded) with another large double bed in the lounge area that can be made up easily, there is also a colour TV provided.
For those of you in the party who aren't out riding the trails, there is a fantastic variety of sites and attractions to visit, close by and further afield. There are also a number of excellent pubs, restaurants and takeaways in case the catering gets too much (you are on holiday after all). Have a look at our tourist info page for a better idea of places to go and see in this part of the West country.
